In mid-March, 2023, fire fuel reduction projects will begin in two County Parks in the Midcoast. At Pillar Point Bluff, dead and dying Monterey pines and young saplings will be thinned. At Quarry Park, maintenance of previously completed fuel reduction areas will focus on invasive species control.

State HCD Awards Cypress Point Affordable Housing $17.8M
Feb 15 County press release announced that the 71-unit project proposed by MidPen Housing on 10.8 acres in Moss Beach was awarded $17.8 million from the state. The rental units will be affordable to families earning 30-80% of Area Median Income, with preference for existing local employees. It was also announced that 18 units will be specifically reserved for local farmworkers and their families.

Applications are being accepted for appointment by the Board of Supervisors to fill two vacancies on the Midcoast Community Council (MCC). To be eligible, applicant must be a registered voter residing in the unincorporated Midcoast communities of Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, Princeton or Miramar.
