Quarry Park Master Plan Final Draft Ready for Review

The San Mateo County Parks Department has released the Quarry Park Master Plan Final Draft. The planning process for Quarry Park and Mirada Surf East and West considers what park improvements may be appropriate over a period of approximately 20 years.

The Final Draft will be presented to the San Mateo County Parks Commission on September 1 before it moves to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors for review in October.

Are you interested in helping govern the Midcoast?

There are four (4) seats up for re-election on the Midcoast Community Council at the November 8, 2022 election. Terms are for 4 years. At least one of those will be open, as the incumbent (Dave Olson) will not be running for re-election.

The first Candidate Seminar (held by the county elections office) to help you through the filing process, will be held on July 7th. Candidates must file between July 18th and August 12nd (all the relevant dates can be found here: https://www.smcacre.org/elections/november-8-2022-election-calendar). Basic info for candidates is here (for all San Mateo County elections): https://www.smcacre.org/elections/basic-campaign-filing-guidelines-candidates, and the folks in the Elections office are very happy to work with candidates in person or on the phone.

I (Dave Olson) would be happy to answer any questions about the process, what the MCC does, what is involved in being a councilmember or any other questions that you might have about running for office as a councilmember on the Midcoast Community Council. Contact me at daveolsonmcc@gmail.com or via my cell, 650.387.3618.
