MidPen Submits Pre-Application Plans for Moss Beach Affordable Housing

Cypress Point is MidPeninsula Housing's proposed 71-unit affordable housing community for families in Moss Beach. The proposed community consists of 16 one-bedroom, 37 two-bedroom, and 18 three-bedroom homes on a 10.875-acre site bounded by Carlos & Sierra Streets. All units apart from the resident manager’s, will be rented to households who earn less than 80% of the Area Median Income.

The entrance on Carlos St. will lead to a community center that will house a community room, property management/resident services offices, computer lab, laundry room, and after-school program space. Outside the community building is a play area for children and a green courtyard.

The flats and townhomes will be located around the center of the site in two-story buildings that match the feel of the surrounding area. Approximately half the site will be preserved as open space, with walking trails around the exterior of the developed area. The plan provides 161 total parking spaces, or 2.27 spaces per unit. Also included are community gardens, barbeque areas, and outdoor bike racks.

The pre-application submittal (PRE2017-00032) includes Site Plans and Preliminary Assessment of Carlos/Hwy 1 Traffic Impacts V2. The first step in the County approval process will be a Pre-Application Public Workshop to be scheduled in Sept.
