Oceano Hotel Plans New Wedding Building

On December 10, the SMC Planning Commission will consider permits to allow construction of a permanent building to replace the seasonal tent that hosts wedding events on Oceano Hotel grounds in Princeton.  The one-story building with pitched roof will sit atop the raised area created by hotel garage excavation behind the HMB Brewing Co.  (See Agenda and Staff Report with building plans and recommended conditions of approval.)

Green Valley Trail Design & Permitting Moves Forward

On December 9, the Board of Supervisors is expected to award a $203,866 contract to Questa Engineering Corp. for the development of plans, specifications and permits for the Green Valley Trail (see consent agenda staff report). The future Green Valley Trail will be a segment of the California Coastal Trail and will start at the southern parking area of the Devil’s Slide Trail, route through the Green Valley east of Highway 1, and end at the Gray Whale Cove State Beach parking area. The trail will be designed for pedestrian, equestrian and mountain bike use, be composed of natural tread and be accessible as much as possible. The design/permitting phase will be completed between January 1 and December 31, 2015. 

County Housing Element Public Workshop Dec 2

San Mateo County's Draft 2014-2022 Housing Element is now available for public review (PDF).   More information on the update to the Housing Element is available at the project website.

The updated Housing Element will be reviewed by the San Mateo County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors in December 2014 and January 2015.  Public comments on all aspects of the draft are encouraged, and will be accepted through December and January.
