Montara Coastal Access Petition: 200 in 1 week

On-line petition started by Montara resident Karen Wilson asks the Board of Supervisors to uphold the Midcoast Local Coastal Program and put a higher priority on protecting coastal ends of county streets for public benefit.  Specifically, this concerns the private walling off of 5^th and 7^th Streets in Montara, which are public rights-of-way. The MCC most recently wrote the Board of Supervisors in this regard last April, and succeeded in persuading the County to remove the fence across the end of Seacliff (6^th). 

The petition page contains many interesting and compelling comments in support of public coastal access, which can be sorted by “latest” or “most popular”.  

Devil’s Slide Trail Planning Meeting July 25, 7pm

County Parks Dept. will hold a public meeting (flyer) to present conceptual plans for the Devil’s Slide Trail and receive public comments:

July 25, 2013, 7:00 – 9:00 pm, at Cypress Meadows Conference Center, 343 Cypress Ave, Moss Beach.

4 MCC Seats Open in November Election

MCC has seven members elected by Midcoast voters to four-year terms. Four Council seats are open in November 2013. Candidate filing period opens July 15 and closes at 5pm on August 9. Learn more here.

Plan Princeton Kick-Off Meeting July 13, 2pm

Kick-off public meeting for Plan Princeton is this Saturday, July 13, 2pm-4pm, at HMB Yacht Club, 214 Princeton Ave (flyer). 

Princeton and Pillar Point Harbor are the visitor-serving and industrial hub of the Midcoast. The County is undertaking a comprehensive update of existing land use plans, development polices and zoning regulations.
