Harbor Dredging Permit Waiver proposed

On April 11 the Coastal Commission will consider a Permit Waiver for Pillar Point Harbor dredging of boat launch ramps and placement of 5,600 cubic yards of dredge material on Perched Beach next to the kayak stand.  If 3 Commissioners object to the Waiver, then a Coastal Development Permit will be required.  Questions or comments should be directed to Nicholas Dreher, North Central District Coastal Program Analyst.  Notice of Proposed Permit Waiver including comments received so far is here.

Emergency Preparedness Fair April 6, 10-2, HMB

Community Preparedness Fair and Grand Opening of the new Sheriff’s Department Emergency Operations Center in HMB, Saturday, April 6th, from 10 to 2, at 537 Kelly Street, Half Moon Bay.

The new Emergency Operations Center will be a hub for information and coordination in times of emergency, providing the community a command center capable of helping in the recovery from a significant disaster.     

Exhibitors providing emergency preparedness information will include:   San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, San Mateo County Search and Rescue, Coastside Fire Protection District, CalFire, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Oil Spill Prevention and Recovery, Pacific Gas and Electric, and other agencies that serve and protect the Coastside
