Harbor Dredging Public Meeting 1/8/13

Harbor District General Manager is holding a public meeting Jan 8, 3pm, at HMB Yacht Club, to discuss the boat launch ramp dredging scheduled for this spring.  Local surfers and others have questioned the continued placement of dredge material on Perched Beach (near kayak stand) when other eroded local beaches (Surfers Beach and Princeton shoreline) cry out for beach replenishment.  Link to HMB Review article.

UPDATE 1/15/13:  The Harbor District will add a new page to their website, available by February, on Pillar Point Harbor Dredging.  The page will also maintain information on Surfers Beach and Princeton shoreline erosion, and other dredging-related issues. Background documents will be available and upcoming meetings, including Army Corps on Surfers Beach, and County Princeton Planning process as it relates to shoreline erosion.

MCC Meeting 12/12/12, 7pm, Seton

AGENDA highlights:

Montara Coastal Access & Views from County Rights-of-Way. As followup to 10/24 MCC presentation, Deputy County Manager Peggy Jensen will address issues of diminishing public coastal access and views from county streets and rights-of-way, focusing on the area from Montara State Beach south to 8th Street. Summary presentation with questions to be answered. 

La Costanera Restaurant Hours of Operation and Montara Beach Parking.  Presentation and consideration of MCC comments (approved) on restaurant application to modify their Use Parmit to allow daytime hours. Original permit limits hours to 5pm to closing time in order to provide public beach parking in the shared lots.   12/5/12 CCC letter to property owner  --  2011 MCC letter re violations  --  2010 MCC comment
