SR1 Safety Barrier Project

Scope: Upgrade all existing K-rail and metal beam guard rail to standard (MGS), and construct new see-through concrete safety barrier (Type 85 or ST-75) at two locations, west of Hwy 1 between Montara & Tom Lantos Tunnel to reduce run-off-cliff incidents. Target construction: 2024.

• Initial Study with Negative Declaration May 2022. Comments/responses on the draft IS/MND start on p. 3-3 with CCC staff and County Planning Dept.

• County Planning Dept. issued CDP exemption 5/3/2023. Target construction: 2024.
