There is a widespread move to the new technology of LED streetlights which can reduce energy costs and CO2 emissions by 60% and maintenance costs by 50% when compared to convential streetlights.
The County of San Mateo is conduting a pilot project to determine if residents of the Midcoast support conversion to LED streetlights. Two LED streetlights (one standard and one with amber chip) have been installed near each Midcoast Post Office (Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada) so we can see their nighttime effect. Please share your opinions on SMCSpeakout.
