Public Workshop June 23: New Highway Crossing Alternatives
The County will present the latest design alternatives for Midcoast Highway 1 at-grade crossings, raised medians, and left-turn lanes:

The new compromise design Alternative 3 has been developed for Montara and Moss Beach in response to public comments. It provides limited raised medians for traffic calming at village gateways, and for pedestrian crossing refuge at 3 locations (Virginia, 7th, & 2nd).

Following Tuesday’s public meeting there will be an online virtual workshop open until July 10. Once a preferred alternative is selected for each location, the next planning phase can move forward, with detailed designs, environmental review and permitting. Construction timeline will depend on prioritization of locations and availability of funding.
